Nurminen Logistics has transported a paper machine from Sweden to Siberia, a distance of 14,000 kilometers.
The 4.2-meter-wide piece of machinery was loaded onto a truck in Sundsvall, a city located on the Gulf of Bothnia. The journey to the Bratsk plant in Russian Siberia took 16 days. A pilot car drove ahead of the truck as required by the transport permit. Temperatures dropped to 42 degrees below zero during the trip through Siberia.
The Finnish logistics company has handled several rail transports for Bratsk, but this shipment was too wide to be taken by rail.
