Berard Transportation has completed the loading out of a pair of offshore decks.
Weighing 1,036 tons, the larger of the two decks was lifted from its foundation in the fabrication yard, rotated 90 degrees and then loaded onto a waiting deck barge, according to a company statement. Berard crew maneuvered the second 859-ton deck around other projects in the yard and positioned it for loading. Once it was lined up, the deck was rolled forward onto the barge adjacent to its sister deck.
Both offshore decks measured 102 feet long and 102 feet wide. Berard used 32 axle lines of self-propelled motorized transports, load supports, barge ramps and winch trucks for the job.
