Fluor Wins Canadian Mega-Mining Project

Fluor won a US$1.5 billion contract from Syncrude Canada for an oil sands project in Alberta, Canada.

The Texas-based engineering and construction company will provide project management services for the Mildred Lake Mine Replacement project. Fluor will provide procurement, contracting and construction management services for infrastructure work and tie-ins to existing facilities.

Work starts immediately and the mining project is scheduled to be completed in 2014, the company said in a statement.
