SAL's heavy-lift vessel Svenja was loaded with six coke drums at Japan's Kobe port.
Each drum measured 44 meters long and 11 meters in diameter with individual weights of up to 600 tonnes. Each of the units was lifted with a single hook operation and stowed tightly on deck in a diagonal position. With a total of 27,000 cubic meters and 3,500 to, the large deck space of this vessel type was maximized in an optimal way, according to a statement from the heavy-lift carrier headquartered just outside Hamburg, Germany.
The cargoes are destined for Yanbu on the Red Sea in Saudi Arabia.
