GAC Pindar has been awarded a three-year contract from sports marketing company O.C. Thirdpole to provide a logistics support package to the Extreme Sailing Series from 2012 through 2014.
GAC will handle the transport of fleets of 40-foot catamarans and portable buildings as the race moves around the globe.
The 2011 series began in Muscat, Oman. The 11 teams, including the U.K. team sponsored by GAC Pindar, went on to compete in Qingdau, China; Istanbul, Turkey; Boston, U.S.; Cowes, U.K.; Trapani, Italy; Nice, France; and Almeria, Spain. The final round of the 2011 Extreme Sailing Series is underway in Marina Bay, Singapore.
The 2012 schedule is set to be confirmed on Dec. 13, according to a GAC statement.
GAC Pindar launched earlier this year. The sailing logistics specialist is headquartered in Southampton, U.K.
